A Fighter for Justice.
A Champion for Families.
A Leader for Our Community.
Challenging times call for courageous leadership.
As Washington attacks our most vulnerable communities and weakens rights and freedoms that generations have fought to secure, we must rise to the challenge at every level of government— and win.
I'm Leslie Lienemann, and for more than 30 years I have stood up for people as a civil rights attorney.
I have taken on powerful opponents to defend people's rights, dignity, and futures. Speaking truth to power is not new to me. It is my life's work.
Our communities deserves leaders who will stand up for our shared values, protect the rights and dignity of all people, and strengthen the fabric of justice that holds us together.
That's why I am running for Maplewood City Council.
With your support, I am ready to bring that commitment to City Hall and work every day to help build a stronger, more inclusive, and more vibrant Maplewood.
My Priorities for a Stronger, More Equitable Maplewood
Protecting civil rights while ensuring Maplewood remains a welcoming community for all
Promoting housing choices and affordability so people can thrive at every stage of life
Supporting mental health, community wellness, and access to local services
Supporting small businesses, economic growth, and a strong local economy
Strengthening partnerships that create opportunity for residents, families, and local businesses
Investing in resilient neighborhoods, quality parks, and community spaces for future generations
About Me
I've spent my life working to make our communities stronger, more just, and more inclusive.
As a civil rights attorney, I've fought for workers, families, and people who needed someone in their corner. I know what it means to take on powerful institutions and stand firm when it matters.
I've also seen firsthand the importance of strong communities. Helping my grandmother and later my parents remain in their homes as they aged reinforced my belief that communities should support people through every stage of life.
I believe local government has a vital role to play in building safe neighborhoods, maintaining strong public services, supporting economic opportunity, and ensuring everyone feels welcome and valued.
That's why I'm running for Maplewood City Council.
I want to help build a Maplewood where families can thrive, seniors can age with dignity, businesses can succeed, and every resident has a voice in shaping our community's future.
